Breakthrough  Evangelistic  Ministries International was established ten years ago. This effort was in response to a vision I had from the Lord to establish a church to provide for the spiritual upliftment of  of the residents of the Woodbridge  and the DC metropolitan  area. This vision was also fully supported by Rev. Dr.  Godfried Duah.
 

In January 2006, the burden became heavy and I sought the face of God with my wife for direction. In mid March of 2006, I was certain in my spirit to start the ministry. I shared the vision with my two spiritual fathers who prayed with me and gave me their blessings, namely Rev. Kwasi O Gyimah (The Church of the Living God) and Rev. Dr.  Godfried Duah (General overseer of Breakthrough  Evangelistic  Minis• tries International).  God who gives a task and provides what it takes to bring the task into fruition, led me to this wonderful  family of then Mr.  and Mrs Peter Afflu (Now Rev. & Mrs. Peter Afflu), who after sharing the vision with, supported me wholeheartedly by giving me a substantial seed offering to start the church. In the early part of May with less than ten people, I was led to have Friday prayer meetings in an office space in Woodbridge,  Virginia owned by Mr.  & Mrs. Afflu.
 

On June 11th, 2006, the church was officially started with the support of the members of the Apostolic church in Maryland  under the leadership of then Presiding elder, Henry Bampoe Darko who came to sup• port the service in Featherstone  Recreational  Center, Woodbridge.  Another memorable  part of the day is the fact that the day was my sweetheart's birthday.  Is God awesome or what? Two years later, God made a way for the ministry to move to a place where we can call our own place of worship on Old Bridge Road

in Woodbridge,  VA. We stayed there a couple of years and we finally moved to our current place of wor•

ship where God is blessing us.
 

There are various ministries in the church namely Men's, Women's, Children's,  Praise & Worship, Media, and last but not the least, the Security Ministry. The church has also been blessed in fulfilling the vision to organize an annual mega-conference dubbed, "The Gathering of the Generals." This conference has been held annually for the past 4 years and we are trusting God for many more. We also started a monthly non-denominational prayer and deliverance  service for all believers  called "Breakthrough Hour" about 2 years ago, and I am happy to say, has been very encouraging!
 

During the years, we have celebrated  a number of members getting married and giving birth as part of the growth of God's kingdom.  We have established  a presence  in the larger community  through charities that have been set up to collect items such as food and used clothing to send to the needy. We have also supported  some ministries   by visiting Pastors from other countries.

In conclusion,  God has been faithful to His church. As our theme for our anniversary  states, 'Thus far the

Lord has brought us'. Indeed Jehovah-Nissi  has brought His church this far. Not by our strength but 'it is the doing of the Lord and it is marvelous  in our sight'
